Booda Butter

I am something of a lip balm connoisseur.  There are tubes and sticks of it in my car, jacket pockets, and bedside table.  Finding vegan lip balm, however, can be difficult, because companies often use beeswax.  So I was thrilled when I saw Booda Butter on the shelf at my co-op.

The ingredient list is simple: coconut oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, and wildcrafted Candelilla wax.

I recognized everything on the ingredient list besides Candelilla wax.  It turns out the wax is made from the Candelilla shrub which grows in Mexico and the foothills of the Chihuahua desert.  For more fun facts on Candelilla wax, check out:

Besides being certified vegan, Booda Butter is soy, bee, and gluten free.   It is also cruelty free and does not test on animals.  I decided to give it a try.

I opened up the Booda Butter and inhaled.  It had a rich aroma without being overpowering.  I applied some to my lips.  It went on smoothly and wasn’t too heavy.  This will definitely be a permanent fixture in my lip care collection.  Check out their website for more information!
